Si bien la historia es interesante, lo que me atrapó son sus entrañables personajes; el autor los describe tan bien que tal parece que al final los conoces, los amas y se vuelven increíblemente reales, por ejemplo Rudy y su alegría por vivir y los padres adoptivos de nuestra ladrona de libros con ese amor que le dan. Tras terminar un libro como este y tras saborear esa sensación q te deja, uno se pregunta cómo demonios hay gente que no le gusta leer y se pierde este grandísimo placer, que otros medios difícilmente igualan. El mejor libro que he leído en mucho tiempo. Como sugerencia, que el inicio es un poco desconcertante, y tal vez un tipo diferente de tipografía pudiera orientar más al lector, y esa traducción dejo un poco que desear; el español de España pudiera no ser entendido de la misma manera por otros lectores hispanohablantes. Ojala y los autores Europeos entiendan que mas haya de Europa existe un Español gigantesco y diferente, tan rico en terminología que hace ver al Español de Europa como pasado de moda. O como decimos por aquí, old fashion. Que no es español? bueno, estamos enriqueciendo el lenguaje, otra vez.

Debo felicitar al autor de esta obra a logrado mostrar , una parte de la Alemania que no seguía la causa hitleriana , y mostrando las dificultades de ellos . Una verdadera historia conmovedora que llega a su clímax en su último capítulo, dejando al lector con el corazón hecho un nudo y ojos llenos de lágrimas, lo más justo sería que se convierta en un clásico de la literatura moderna, un libro que no pueden dejar de leer.Y para Amazon gracias por poner esta obra maestra en su biblioteca, y como siempre su presentación para Kindle excelente.

Love, love, love this book! Now, this is not a book of pretty pictures per say that you can emulate as you dress for your day, so if that is what you are looking for I would suggest The Wardrobe Wakeup by Johnson or better, People's Style magazine or my personal fav- Pinterest! BUT, if you want to learn more about the psychology behind style and how your outward appearance is reflected by your inner feelings and how your self-esteem can be boosted by dressing 'as if' you are successful, as the author suggests, then this is a MUST read! I volunteer at a non-profit organization that helps women empower themselves through career advice and the effect of dressing for success, and this book has given me so much information to pass on to my clients as well as some 'aha' moments for myself! I highly recommend reading!

I have read several books on the topic and found this book completely useless!! Please, do not repeat my mistake and don’t waste your money. A few major things are fundamentally wrong with this book. Here are my thoughts:1. The content is extremely repetitive. Literally (and I mean LITERALLY) half the book goes on and on about one and the same thought that every woman is beautiful, has to be confident, is worth looking her best and should try looking her best. Seriously, that’s all.2. Don’t let the chapter titles fool you. They actually make a lot of sense and seem to be ordered logically (that’s why I bought the book). But that’s about all that makes sense here. Regardless of the name of the chapter, the content doesn’t change. The chapters could as well be called “alien invasion” or “where I spent my summer holidays”. The author goes on and on about the same idea „every woman is beautiful, has to have confidence, is worth looking her best and should try to look her best”.3. The book is extremely poorly structured. There is no logic in how information is presented. It feels like the author did a very hasty and sloppy job writing the book.4. The book lacks any practical tips that women would find useful.5. Overpriced.6. I got this book because it had decent reviews. After reading it I went back on amazon to read them again. (I was amazed at how many people gave it good reviews. Why?!) Honestly, the most truthful reviews were 1 and 2 star reviews. It felt like the good reviews were given by people who maybe personally know the author (she seems to be very well connected) or people who maybe watch her on tv. I don’t know. Didn’t feel to me that the good reviews were genuine.Bottom line: don’t waste your time and money. Skip this one... do yourself a favor and skip it.

This one was bad. Just bad. The focus is on psychology and self esteem, which is great for those who need a pick-me-up in that department. It felt like reading something by Dr. Phil. (I had the horrible experience of trying that once many years ago). It's the same repetitive chatter in Every Single Chapter. The few chapters at the very end that touch a little, and I mean very little, on color charts and body shape can be found in abundance on Pinterest. You will learn nothing from this book if you are looking for inspiration on updating your look.

It's actually a great read for those in need of finding their personal style. I already had one, but I bought and gifted this book to all the 13-18 year old girls in my family. I want them to know the difference between a trend and a style; and dressing etiquette.

I've never seen this woman as I don't watch The Today Show, but I did read a review and liked what I read so I bought the book. This is a good resource book to have. She asks you to look into yourself to find your outer self, which is a different approach - and it's a good one. I highly recommend this book. It's an easy read. She gives you little assignments to aid you in finding your personal style. She's current as well, updating old Color Me Beautiful color guides. I am not a fashion person normally, but this was a fun read for me.

Bobbie Thomas is such a fun, spirited young lady, and even though I am middle aged, this book inspires me to lighten up my wardrobe and learn new ways to grow older with more class! Great ideas for the style of clothes for your body type that I really appreciated. I really like it and think changing your styles and way of looking at yourself, is a growing experience.

I'm writing this as Dennis, spouse of Mary, who has the actual Amazon account.I purchased this book as I had bought Cook's original book "How to repair and restore furniture", published several years ago. This"New" book is identical in content to the first book. The only changes are in the jacket cover pictures and the jacket itself. I had wrongly assumed that this would be a new edition of his original book with much more information than he presented originally. I was WRONG! The book is excellent in content and the Reprint has larger pictures and larger type. I suppose if you're visually impaired the reprint may be of more interest to you than the original. So to any of you who may be interested in purchasing either book you now know the differences between the two.However if you do any repair or restoration or creation of furniture, you will find this book to be a very, very valuable resource.

I bought this as a gift for my wife who is getting started in refinishing furniture and she really likes it as does my daughter both have said they are learning a lot and has made jobs easier

Like new, information I needed for a restoration project. Very pleased
