Fantastic travel guide. I've been using Lonely Planet for over a decade and this is a relevant update. I have the first edition from 2000 and I also read the previous 2012 version. I can say this edition will definitely be invaluable. For a fairly unvisited region of the world I definitely recommend this guide.
I've used Lonely Planet guides for many, many years, and decided to try this one in the Kindle format "just to see" - I've often thought that on an extended trip requiring multiple guide books, the Kindle would make a lot of sense.... not so. Immediately upon opening this one, I discovered that in a Kindle format this is nearly useless. When using a travel guide like this, you need to be able to page back and forth to see what's coming in the next days, or even next week, if you need to make travel arrangements. I might be in Yerevan today, but need to book that hotel in Baku. Kindle is set up to read books sequentially. With a guide book you need to flip to that page that had the interesting photo.... hard to say where it was. Where's that map? I found it, but in this format the maps were unreadable on my Kindle. The key to the map extended over multiple pages. Really not a good solution. I returned it for a refund.
The information in this book is sufficient to plan my trip to these countries.
The Lonely Planet series may not be the best guide series, but at least they did a book about this destination that I will be visiting.
If only it was as easy to reach these places affordably!
nice and interesting presentation of Georgia main places and very usefull to help newcomers to the country to make the best choice possible of sites not to be missed and hotels/restaurants to attend.
